Communicating and Documenting Software Architecture

Proper documentation of software architectures is undoubtedly one of the most frequently neglected disciplines. Especially with regard to the long-term value creation of software, the importance of architecture documentation cannot be overstated.

Through this iSAQB-accredited training, you will gain the knowledge to document software architectures thoroughly and practically, and to communicate them effectively. You will learn how to define the approach for documenting a medium or large system, select the right tools, and evaluate documentation.

Course Content of the ADOC Training

  • Basic concepts, benefits, and objectives of architecture documentation
  • Documentation for new systems as well as for existing systems, with or without existing documentation
  • Familiarize with various components of documentation and select them as needed
  • Digital and analog tools for creating, maintaining, managing, and communicating the components
  • Evaluate and review documentation for usability
  • Examples of realistic architecture documentation and discussion. In addition to technical aspects, organizational and social factors are an integral part of the training.

Afterward, you will have the tools to:

  • Select processes, templates, and levels of detail for appropriate software architecture documentation
  • Document software architectures properly and communicate them appropriately to the target audience
  • Prepare, moderate, or perform evaluations of software architecture documentation

Credit Points for CPSA-A Certification

Our advanced training program deepens your knowledge in methodology, technology, and communication, enabling you to earn the 70 required credit points for the CPSA-A® exam. Certification at the Advanced Level requires prior completion of the Foundation Level.
