Prof. Dr. Sebastian S. has been a full‑time Professor of Cloud Computing and Distributed Systems
at Mannheim University of Applied Sciences since autumn 2024.


In addition, he works as a freelance cloud architect and algorithm engineer and brings more than
20 years of experience in software development and software architecture.


He supports development teams in achieving quality goals when creating and evolving software systems,
providing them with comprehensive technical expertise.


His project experience includes migrating legacy monoliths to cloud‑native microservices,
integrating IoT devices, and decarbonizing cloud solutions.


As a platform architect at Dentsply Sirona, he made significant contributions to improving
the architecture and further developing dental software solutions.


In addition, Prof. Dr. Sebastian S. has designed, implemented, and optimized CAM algorithms
as a development engineer.
